The shooting happened at approximately 1:30 p.m.

at the intersection of East 79th Street and Superior Avenue, less than a block away from Cleveland's East High School. Officials, however, said that students were not involved in the incident.

Jimmy Morris, 26,

was transported by Life Flight to MetroHealth Medical Center, but was pronounced dead on arrival.
He suffered numerous gunshot wounds to the body.

Detectives said that Morris entered Lionel Beckwith's Chevrolet Blazer, was shot numerous times and fell out of the vehicle onto the street, where he essentially bled to death.
