WESTLAKE, OH (WOIO) - A former housekeeper at the Hospice of the Western Reserve is under investigation for possibly giving her co-workers drugged brownies.
On Thursday, Nov. 15, the housekeeper put a tray of brownies in the break room and said she had brought them in for everyone.
At least 10 employees became sick after eating the brownies.
Two of the employees went to the hospital for symptoms including paranoia and dizziness.
After employees ate them and became sick, managers at the facility traced the sickness back to the brownies left by the housekeeper.
The housekeeper then told managers she had found the brownies while cleaning a patient’s room.
The housekeeper, whose name is not being released, was fired.
Westlake police officers are looking at surveillance video and reviewing statements to determine if she will be charged.
The brownies have been submitted to the crime lab for analysis.
