CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner has officially declared Aisha Fraser’s death as a suspected homicide.

Fraser, 45, died from multiple stab wounds. She was found dead at her sister-in-law’s residence on Chagrin Boulevard by Shaker Heights police on Saturday morning.

Her estranged husband, former Cuyahoga County judge Lance Mason, is accused of fatally stabbing Fraser, but formal murder charges have not yet been presented.

Mason was arrested while attempting to flee from the crime scene, crashing into a Shaker Heights police cruiser in the process. He has been charged with felonious assault on the police officer and remains in custody as the investigation continues.

A shocked Shaker Heights community gathered Monday evening to pay tribute to the former sixth grade teacher at Woodbury Elementary.
