CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Police were puzzled after what they saw being towed behind a car in Shelby on Monday.
The Shelby Police Department, which is located in Richland County, shared a photo of a driver dragging behind a backhoe shovel hooked to the back of a car.
“My law enforcement career started on the Shelby PD Auxiliary in 1990. Over the years, I have seen a lot of unbelievable things. Things that other people would never believe unless they saw it with their own eyes. I will put this story into that category,” Shelby Chief of Police Lance Combs wrote on Facebook.
Police say the huge hunk of metal was actually stolen from a business and Mansfield. The driver confessed plans to sell it to a recycling facility.
