‘Amazing’: Little girl battling cancer describes gifted wig she received
CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Genesis Mossage was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a very rare cancer, in January 2018.
The treatment the 5-year-old has gone through has caused her to lose her hair. But a local is stepping up to help by donating a wig to Genesis, or “Gigi” for short.
She goes by “@WigDealer” on Instagram and her shop is in Maple Heights.
“That small little act of kindness just shows that there really is good people out there. It made our day,” says Gigi’s dad, Jerymi Mossage.
And this is how Gigi described her new wig: “Amazing,” she said. “My wig makes me feel prettier.”
Gigi loves to style her new hair, especially with her favorite JoJo Bows. And despite what she’s been going through, Jerymi says Gigi is always smiling.
Since January, Gigi has been through five rounds of chemotherapy, two rounds of transplants, tumor removal, several months of radiation and now six months to antibody therapy.
“The stuff she goes through, I couldn’t imagine myself going through it. And just my child going through it, it’s tough. But, I mean, seeing this smile everyday, it brightens everyone’s day, especially mine,” says Jerymi.
And Gigi has her own message for other kids, like her, fighting cancer. She says, “We’re all strong and we can all do it.”
