CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - The Buckeye-Shaker neighborhood on Cleveland’s east side hasn’t has a fresh meat vendor in almost 50 years.
“For people in the neighborhood, we got it all,” Brandon Chrostowski said walking around his brand new shop. “You got your half slab of ribs, full slab of ribs, roasted chicken, fried chicken, all the sides that come from down south, from greens to cornbread.”
Chrostowski wants his students to master the fundamentals of butchering, but believed a butcher shop alone wasn’t viable, so he included a deli to serve the community.
There will be a variety of sandwiches from BLT’s to Corned Beef to hamburgers and hot dogs. To go with those sandwiches will be a host of sides, including cornbread and baked beans. Most items on the menu will be under $10.
Chrostowski calls the shop and extension of what he has been doing all along, “providing the best teaching to someone who deserves it.”
“This is going to be another extension, another layer to increase the strengths of our students,” Chrostowski adds.
The restaurateur wants everyone to feel welcome in the new store that has been completely remodeled.
“We just hope this a friendly place," Chrostowski said. “You’re going to get your fill and it’s going to feed the soul.”
The hours for the Butcher Shop will be Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
