BRUNSWICK, OH (WOIO) - Brunswick officers and residents came to the rescue for a deer that got entangled in a soccer net on Saturday morning.

Police say a resident called for help at about 8:45 a.m. after spotting the buck behind Memorial Elementary.

Since Animal Control was reportedly unavailable, Officer Fink and Officer Puhac came to save the day. When the officers arrived, they found the buck had dragged the net to Skyview Drive while struggling to free himself.

Police used limb trimmers to pull the net tight enough for an assisting resident to cut the net with a saw.

But just when the rescuers finally got the deer free, the buck got stuck...again.

Once free for good, the deer took off seemingly unharmed. However, the soccer net wasn’t so lucky.
