CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - The Willoughby Police Department is asking for help, but this time it’s not to find the bad guy.

Through their Facebook page Willoughby’s boys in blue are requesting help decorating the holiday tree in the lobby of the Willoughby Police Department.

Help us decorate our holiday tree! Stop by our lobby and add your personal touch with an individual ornament. We especially like a kid's handmade ornament. Have a safe holiday season.

The idea originated from with Community Involvement Officer Patrolman Bruce Fedor.

“It’s a good way to connect with the community,” Sgt. John Begovic said. “We’ve had quite a few people come in.”

The police are looking forward to handmade ornaments, and are especially encouraging children to make their own decorations and bring them in to hang on the tree.

The tree is located in a glass lobby and easily accessible to visitors. If you would like to add an ornament you are encouraged to stop by and add to the tree.

The Willoughby Police Department is located at 36700 Euclid Ave., in Willoughby.
