CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Lauri Markkanen put in more than 30 points for the second straight game to lead Chicago past the Cavs on Sunday at Quicken Loans Arena. Markkanen scored 31 on 11-of-18 shooting in the 112-92 win. He hit five 3-pointers.
The Bulls dominated the second half. They outscored Cleveland 58-33 over the final two quarters behind 64% shooting from the floor. Cavaliers coach Larry Drew told his players afterwards he was disappointed they didn’t play with more energy, especially in the third quarter after the Bulls took control midway through the period.
“It just seems when we hit a bump in the road things get really rocky real fast,” he said. “It’s something we have to learn how to play through.”
Larry Nance, Jr. led Cleveland with 20 points, and Cedi Osman and Jordan Clarkson each had 17.
The Cavaliers have lost five of their last six games, they play in Memphis on Wednesday night.
