CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - A half a million lights can’t be wrong.
Strongsville starts discretely in September decorating for the holidays. Because, it takes that long to set up half a million lights. The two big trees share about 50,000 lights with the balance spread out over the green and the Freedom Trail.
The green, located at the intersection of Pearl Road and State Route 82 is decorated annually and will continue to grow each year.
Funding for the display comes from donations.
“All money, all funds are donations. we save each year and build on it, it gets bigger and bigger each year,” Strongsville city employee Jennifer Milbrandt says.
Brand new this year are true white lights on the clock tower. The tower is lit with lights that change color,
“I think it’s really nice to have people come out and enjoy the lights,” Milbrandt said.
