Cleveland elementary school closes for day due to standoff in the area

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Willson Elementary in Cleveland is closed today because of a standoff from earlier in the morning.
News Bureau Director for the Cleveland Metropolitan School District Tom Ott said the school is closed because of the emergency situation.
A Cleveland police dispatcher said officers surrounded a house for shooting suspect in the area of East 86th Street and Superior Avenue.
Investigators said a SWAT Team was called to the scene, the suspect was taken into custody without incident.
Authorities said he is a suspect in a Friday morning shooting on East 87th Street.
Ott said the school closing alert was sent out before any students arrived for class for the day.
