Stouffer’s providing free meal to federal workers in Cleveland area affected by the shutdown

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Stouffer’s will provide a free meal to furloughed government employees in the Cleveland area to thank those serving the community.

“Stouffer’s has been a part of the Cleveland community since 1924. During this difficult time caused by the shutdown, we want to support you like you have supported us,” Stouffer’s said.

Government workers in the Cleveland area affected by the shutdown can stop by Stouffer’s from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. on Jan. 16.

Stouffer’s Solon campus is located at 30003 Bainbridge Road.

Furloughed employees must present their federal government ID to receive the free meal.

Stouffer’s said the free meals will be available while supplies last.

This government shutdown became the longest in U.S. history on Jan. 12.

There are about 800,000 federal employees who are furloughed during the government shutdown nationwide with an estimated 6,569 here in Ohio, according to calculations from the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM).
