CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - It’s time for Taste Buds, Cleveland 19 News' weekly video podcast about all things food! Each episode features the latest topics, debates, and issues concerning the local food scene and restaurant industry.
The show, hosted by Jen Picciano of Cleveland Cooks, Chef Matt Mytro of Flour, and Chef David Kocab of The Black Pig, features interactive elements through our Facebook Live broadcast.
On this week’s episode, the Taste Buds welcome special guest Chef Ben Bebenroth, of Spice Kitchen & Bar in Gordon Square, and Spice Acres in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
Ben’s current focus is fostering local collaborations and connections. He is embarking on a collaboration with local partners, like CVSR for “Dinner on the Train.” He is also concentrating on the idea of building community around food, which is true to their mission and resonates with another upcoming project which he will discuss on the show, the “Whole Beast Feast.”
Bebenroth is also behind a partnership with Rising Star Coffee, joining Spice for Brunch + Brew events. Their Hingetown and Lakewood cafes are selling Spice breakfast burritos every Saturday and Sunday.
Their nonprofit Spice Field Kitchen is ramping up for a big year; Bebenroth will also touch on their overall our sourcing philosophy which supports local farms and producers.
Catch Taste Buds live this and every Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. on Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Facebook Live and the Cleveland 19 News app and website. Chime in live and get your questions and comments read live on the show.
