NORTHEAST OHIO, OH (WOIO) - Hundreds of thousands of food stamp (SNAP) recipients will receive their February benefits early as the federal shutdown continues to disrupt services across several areas of government.

Recipients should expect next month’s benefits to arrive on Jan. 16.

The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services posted the following notice on their Facebook page on Wednesday afternoon:

A message for SNAP recipients about February benefits. For more information or questions about your benefits, please contact your county OhioJFS office: http://jfs.ohio.gov/County/County_Directory.stm

Given the disruption, the state office is stressing that SNAP recipients budget accordingly.
