Tree worker rescued after being hit by a branch in Twinsburg

TWINSBURG, OH (WOIO) - A tree worker needed to be rescued back in the trails at Liberty Park, after being hit in the head with a tree branch.

Twinsburg police and Summit Metropark rangers responded to the park around noon.

The victim, a 24-year-old man, was about a 1/4 mile back in the trails.

He was extricated by EMS crews who used the department’s rural terrain vehicle.

Update on rescue from Liberty Park: 24 year old male tree worker hit in head by branch, approximately 1/4 mile back in trails. He was extricated by EMS crews using the department’s rural terrain vehicle while conscious and alert. Transported to Hillcrest Hospital with non-life threatening injures. Twinsburg Police and Summit Metropark Rangers located the victim and gave medical updates to EMS crews prior to their arrival.

Officials said the victim was conscious and alert.

He is currently being treated at Hillcrest Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
