CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - President Donald Trump returned to Ohio on Wednesday for several scheduled events.
He departed Washington, D.C just after noon en route to tour an Army tank production facility in Lima.
Following the Lima appearance, the president is scheduled to attend a campaign fundraising event in Canton to raise money for his re-election bid.
Wednesday’s visit is the president’s first trip to Ohio since the closure of the General Motors plant in Lordstown. President Trump has urged GM officials to reverse its decision to shutter the plant.
Ohio was a linchpin in President Trump’s 2016 election campaign and will likely play a crucial role in his attempt for re-election in 2020.
