A panel of doctors, medical professionals, and administrators compiled the list of Newsweek’s top hospitals across the globe.
Northeast Ohio-based Cleveland Clinic was named the No. 2 best hospital system in the world, ranking only behind the Minnesota-based Mayo Clinic.
Cleveland Clinic’s heart surgery program has been considered one of the best in the country for decades, according to Newsweek. The hospital system is also responsible for the world’s first total facial transplant.
Over 7.6 million patients visited the Cleveland Clinic’s locations in the U.S., Canada, and the United Arab Emirates in 2017.
