LORAIN COUNTY, OH (WOIO) - A dad of two young daughters was struck and killed by a suspected drunken driver late Saturday.
Oscar Deleon, of Lorain, was driving home from the Rosewood Grill in Strongsville where he worked when Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers said he was hit head-on by another driver.
The crash happened around 11 p.m. on State Route 82 in Eaton Township. A business located along Rt. 82, captured the whole incident on their surveillance cameras.
Troopers said Richard Dublin, 48, of Cleveland, was attempting to pass another vehicle when he struck Deleon’s car.
Dublin was also killed in the collision.
Deleon leaves behind his finance and two daughters who are 2 and 3 years old.
“It’s a stark reminder that people who drive under the influence of drugs or alcohol - the end result can be bad, and tragically, a family lost a husband, father, friend, brother,” said Lt. Carlos Smith of the North Ridgeville Ohio State Highway Patrol Post.
Family members have started a GoFundMe page to help with funeral costs.
