BAY VILLAGE, OH (WOIO) - If you commute in Bay Village, you are going to have to look for an alternate route on Lake Road over the Cahoon Creek starting April 1.
The bridge over the quiet creek is set to be demolished and rebuilt. The work will take approximately seven months to complete.
Detours will be posted for both truck and local routes. Residents and area motorists will have to heavily rely on Cahoon, Wolf and Dover Center roads to bypass the closed section.
Chris Sailor uses the skate park down the road.
“That could be a problem for some people," he said.
Local schools and businesses could be impacted, but the $3 million project is expected wrap by this fall.
