CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Cleveland Indians pitchers Trevor Bauer and Mike Clevinger surprised a high school baseball team in Florida and were both outfitted with a microphone while crashing their scrimmage game.
“Trev and Clev” exchanged jabs with each other over who had the better stats last year, they played unfamiliar positions in the infield and outfield, and the duo even took a few swings at the plate.
“Aww, I missed it,” Clevinger claimed as he hit the ball out of the park.
It wasn’t all fun, games, and home runs. Bauer and Clevinger offered some words of advice to the high school athletes following the game.
“You got to know where you want to go and then develop a plan,” Bauer said. “Trust the plan and then execute it.”
'You can’t put yourself in just today," Clevinger added. “It’s easy to be good today. You got to think about everybody and everyone else that’s training, everybody else out there working just like you are every single day. I’d just say broaden your horizons."
