WILLOUGHBY, OH (WOIO) - A Willoughby company is getting national recognition for its urban farm.
OD Greens in Willoughby grows lettuce, arugula and other greens inside of a 40-foot shipping container. It is then sold to restaurants in Northeast Ohio
The produce is grown vertically, meaning one container can grow as much as two traditionally-farmed acres.
The business also hires disabled veterans and assists them in getting workplace training. The concept has caught the attention of a national contest for veteran entrepreneurs. OD Greens is a finalist in the competition, which gives funding to small businesses.
