CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Richard Adams is set to appear in Willoughby Municipal Court at 1 p.m. to face assault charges.
Adams is accused of beating up a teen rape suspect last month inside an Eastlake home.
Adams said he walked in on a 17-year-old boy who had a 5-year-old boy’s penis in his mouth.
After beating up the teen, Adams posted video of the aftermath on Facebook. In the video, Adams is heard interrogating the teen.
Adams has been out on bond. He recently told Cleveland 19 News that he “snapped” after seeing the alleged rape.
Adams said he regrets posting the video of the beating’s aftermath.
“I want everyone to stop all the child offenders and predators out there,” Adams said. “I don’t want any child to go through that.”
The Eastlake Police Department has received criticism from some in the community over Adams arrest and the charges filed against him.
A GoFundMe for Adams’ legal battle has raised more than $40,000.
The teen implicated in this case has been charged with rape. He’s set to appear in court next week.
