CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Cleveland rapper, Q Money, was wanted in connection with the murder of a 23-year-old in Dekalb County Georgia.

Police were searching 23-year-old Qamar Akee Williams of Avon after a warrant was issued on Monday.

According to the warrant, Q Money allegedly caused the death of Calvin Alexander Chappell by shooting him multiple times with a handgun at a Decatur, Georgia residence on Monday.

The DeKalb County Sheriff confirmed Q Money turned himself in to their office on Thursday.

He was taken into custody without incident at the DeKalb County Jail and is being held on a felony murder charge, according to the sheriff.

“He had a little temper on him, but not nothing like that. I ain’t never heard of him doing anything violent,” said Twon Kash.

According to Reports, a witness claims he saw Q-money standing over his dead roommate with a gun. The witness woke up his cousin and the two wrestled the gun from the rapper, forcing him out the door. People who grew up with the rapper are claiming that’s not the Q-Money they know.

“I think it’s kind of weird that he became kinda famous and he got caught up in this unfortunate situation. Hopefully something comes out of it saying he’s not guilty,” said Norlando Bradford.

Ron Dhillon owns the convenience store right next the Dog Pound Lounge. He recalls Q Money once being a frequent customer. Now he’s in disbelief.

“He was on the right track. Who knows. Sometimes you just get up in the morning and get a surprise. This is definitely a surprise for me,” said Dhillon.

The Victim’s family believes that the two knew each other from his time spent here in Ohio in the past.
