CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Indians first baseman Carlos Santana was sworn in as United States citizen at federal court.

Santana was officially sworn in Friday morning during a naturalization ceremony at the U.S District Court building in Cleveland.

Both Santana and Indians slugger Hanley Ramirez recently passed their citizenship tests.

The Indians clubhouse celebrated with cake. Francisco Lindor shared a video on social media of the celebration.

The two will take the field on Friday night against the Atlanta Braves for the first time as American citizens.
