CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - The Carrollton School District announced Saturday that it will have extra staff on hand when students and staff return to school Tuesday following the tragic death of 14-year-old Jonathon Minard.

That announcement came one day after the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office announced that Minard’s body was found buried in a shallow grave in a Washington Township field.

The district issued the following statement via Facebook:

"The Carrollton School District is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Jonathan.

Jonathan was a caring and thoughtful seventh grader who will be missed by all.

The District will have extra counselors, care team members, and ministerial staff available for students and staff when we return to school on Tuesday, April 23.

Parents, please reach out to school professionals if you feel your child could use additional resources or someone to talk to about their feelings. We also have a list of crisis resources on our website at carrolltonschools.org.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Jonathan’s family and friends during this difficult time."
