WARREN, OH (WOIO) - James Stennett, a Warren man charged with domestic violence and interfering with child custody, will be released from bond on $2,500 bond.
Last Thursday, Stennett was arrested after the mother of his child called police, telling them there had been a domestic incident at the home, which culminated in him taking their 2-month-old baby. The mother told police Stennett had a gun and an Amber Alert was issued.
A few hours after the search started, police found the baby safe. They arrested Stennett a few hours later.
A judge ordered Stennett to appear to the probation department and not to possess a gun.
While the victim was allegedly considering withdrawing her initial statement to police, based on text messages obtained by 19 News, she did not recant in court.
She did not want to speak with 19 News, nor did members of Stennett’s family.
A trial date has not been set.
