Portage County clinic announces dates for free health care services

ROOTSTOWN, OH (WOIO) - A student-run clinic located in Portage County will provide free health care services to patients on several Saturdays throughout May, June, July, and August.

The Student OutReach to Area Residents clinic, or SOAR, will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the following Saturdays:

  • May 4
  • May 11
  • May 25
  • June 1
  • June 8
  • June 15
  • July 6
  • July 13
  • July 20
  • Aug. 3
  • Aug. 10
  • Aug. 17

On the specific dates listed, the clinic will provide free primary care, chronic disease management, regular routine care, physical exams, basic lab work, and prescriptions for medications.

Since SOAR opened, student volunteers from Northeast Ohio Medical University have provided more than 11,600 hours of health care services to those in need in the community.

The SOAR student-run clinic is located at 4209 Ravenna Louisville Road in Rootstown Township.
