Cleveland firefighter injured battling blaze on city’s East Side; crews worked to quickly stamp out flames

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - A fire ripped through a vacant home on Cleveland’s East Side, and 19 News has confirmed a firefighter was injured battling the blaze.

The firefighter was taken to MetroHealth hospital, and may have sustained a broken leg.

The home is located at 2943 East 66th St., and firefighters reported large flames were burning in the second story of the residence.

Crews stamped out the blaze by 8:50 p.m. Monday.
