CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - 19 News investigated if schools in Northeast Ohio tested for radon gas.
The investigation found an overwhelming majority of schools don’t test for radon. For those districts that did test for radon, many of them tested between 2002 and 2005.
According to the EPA, any levels higher than 4.0 pCi/L should be mitigated. Mitigation can include HVAC repair and replace or installing a mitigation system, depending on how bad the levels are indicated.
