ESPN is reporting the UFC fighter could get a heavyweight title rematch against Daniel Cormier.
“I’m ready,” Miocic, 36, told ESPN. “I’ve been ready. And I’m going to take back what’s mine.”
The former heavyweight champion fights out of Independence, and doubles as a firefighter.
He met Cormier, 40, last July at UFC 226 and was knocked out in the first round for the championship belt.
Following the match, Brock Lesnar hopped in the Octagon jawing at the champion.
UFC President Dana White was fully prepared to promote a Lesnar-Cormier matchup.
ESPN reports that UFC is closing a deal for a pay-per-view matchup set for Aug. 17, in Anaheim, California.
Earlier this year, Cormier (22-1) when on a Twitter rant in regards to a rematch against Miocic (18-3).
