Police activity prompts lockdown for Newcomerstown schools

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - The Newcomerstown Mayor’s Office said schools were put on lockdown Tuesday morning because of police activity in the area.

Police are looking for an individual who may be in Newcomerstown, according to a post on the mayor’s Facebook page, which was posted shortly after 11 a.m.

Schools were placed on lockdown as a precautionary measure because of their proximity to the initial police activity.
