CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - The Cleveland Indians announced Wednesday that starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco has been placed on the Injured List.

According to the team, Carrasco was recently diagnosed with a blood condition after feeling lethargic for several weeks. While physicians continue to care for Carrasco, he will be stepping away from baseball for the time being.

The Indians say they expect Carrasco to rejoin the team at some point this season.

Carrasco started 12 games this season and has a 4-6 record. His leave comes as the Indians rotation is depleted with the injuries of Mike Clevinger and Corey Kluber.
