Register outage impacts Target stores nationwide

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - A major system outage affected Target stores, and frustrated customers, across the country.

The outage caused extended wait times for customers hoping to checkout.

The outage went on for hours. According to DownDetector.com, the store began having system issues at 1:42 p.m. ET.

Just after 6 p.m., Target tweeted out that the registers were up and running again and provided an explanation:
