SWAT standoff in Ohio City ends peacefully

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - A SWAT standoff in Ohio City ended peacefully after closing nearby streets for hours.

Just before 2 a.m., police responded to a noise complaint of a woman playing loud music at a home in the 2000 block of West 26th Street.

When officers arrived at the home, a 55-year-old woman answered the door briefly before slamming it shut.

Police on scene reported hearing gunfire in the apartment not long after the woman slammed the door shut.

Per protocol, SWAT responded to the apartment was surrounded until the woman finally surrendered to authorities around 6:30 a.m. Nobody was injured.

Police are working on getting a search warrant for the apartment.

The incident remains under investigation.
