NORTHFIELD VILLAGE, Ohio (WOIO) - Police in Northfield Village have taken the unusual step of issuing a warning to residents regarding a recent release from jail.

Sharlene Wagner was arrested and charged with stealing from an 87-year-old woman in April 2019.

The victim filed a police report on April 30, which alleged two of the personal checks she issued to her landscaper were altered prior to being deposited.

Detectives charged Wagner with theft, forgery and telecommunications fraud.

She was being held in the Macedonia City Jail on a $20,000 bond, but has seen been released.
