CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - One man is dead and eight others are recovering after an early-morning fire on Cleveland’s West Side.
The fire occurred in the 2100 block of W. 95th Street around 3:30 a.m. Saturday.
Police and fire arrived on the scene to find eight residents, aged 13-41, who reside in the upstairs unit of the duplex outside the home.
Those residents were transported via EMS to Metro, where they were treated for smoke inhalation and then released.
According to police, a ninth victim, a 51-year-old male, was found unconscious in the downstairs unit of the home.
The cause of death has not been released pending an official ruling by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner.
Authorities suspect arson as the investigation continues.
