Sentencing for Brunswick man convicted in 2016 death of his co-worker

MEDINA, Ohio (WOIO) - Richard Berger of Brunswick was sentenced Tuesday morning for the death of Starr Pawliczka, 25.

Starr Pawliczka, 25, was killed in April of 2016.

In October, he pleaded guilty to charges of involuntary manslaughter and corrupting another with drugs.

Her family said Pawliczka was staying at Berger’s Brunswick home while she detoxed from her heroin addiction.

She was found dead in his apartment in April of 2016 and Berger was arrested in 2018.

Berger and Pawliczka were co-workers.

Medina County Court of Common Pleas Judge Christopher Collier sentenced Berger to 10 years in prison, but he was given credit for the time he has already served.
