CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Kevin McAleenan is the fourth and latest Homeland Security secretary to step down since President Donald Trump took office.

He had only served at DHS for six months, after being sworn in this past April.

Sources say the decision had been planned for weeks, and was not related to the deepening Ukraine scandal, according to the Associated Press.

The president plans to announce a new acting secretary next week.
