CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan announced on Thursday that he is ending his bid in the 2020 presidential election.
Ryan’s withdrawal comes after a seven-month campaign.
The Democratic lawmaker said he is withdrawing from the race so he could focus on his reelection campaign to U.S. Congress.
The former presidential hopeful failed to gain ground on more well-known Democrats who are still in the race.
Ryan represents Ohio’s 13th District in the U.S. House of Representatives, which consists of portions of Akron, Alliance, Warren, and Youngstown.
He previously served in the Ohio State Senate.
