Summit County man found to shot to death in a car

AKRON, Ohio (WOIO) - A 25-year-old man was shot to death while sitting in a car in front of a business.

Akron police said at 4:10 a.m. Saturday the victim, who was a passenger, was in a parking lot in the 2300 block of Romig Road.

The Summit County Medical Examiner said Marques Gaves died from a gunshot wound to the head.

The driver of the car fled the scene and tried to take Gaves to the hospital, police said.

EMS met them on the way, put the victim in an ambulance and brought him to the Cleveland Clinic Akron General medical Center, where he died several hours later.
