CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Wintry weather led to major delays and numerous crashes in Northeast Ohio during the Tuesday morning commute.

Multiple crashes caused different closures in parts of Cuyahoga and Summit Counties.

Two separate incidents were reported around 9:30 a.m., according to Ohio Turnpike officials. One was in the westbound direction and the other in the eastbound.

Crash investigators from the Ohio State Highway Patrol confirmed to 19 News that one person was killed in the Summit County crash in the Richfield area.

Emergency crews were guiding traffic past the crash scene while the cleanup continued.
