ELYRIA, Ohio (WOIO) - An Elyria High School teacher is on administrative leave after being accused of calling a student a racial slur.

According to the student, Family and Consumer Science teacher Doreen Evans called him the N-word on Monday in front of the entire class.

The student said another teacher was also in the room at the time.

Elyria school officials said Evans will remain on leave during its internal investigation.
