EUCLID, Ohio (WOIO) - Euclid High School will be closed Tuesday, Dec. 3, as a precaution after being notified about a threat.

“It was a threat made to another student after school hours (on campus),” said Interim Superintendent Chris Papouras. “The threat was then reported appropriately to one of our staff, who then contacted the high school principal and security and the investigation started from that point. So as a precaution, and giving us time to fully investigate the matter, we thought in the best interest of students safety and our staff safety to keep the high school closed today."

Papouras said he couldn’t elaborate on the exact threat nor could he confirm if a weapon was mentioned or used.

“We’re working with the police department, and we will press full criminal charges as well as any violation to the school code of conduct on this matter,” the interim superintendent said.

“The safety of students and staff is our first concern as we take all threats seriously.”
