CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - After hearing rumors about himself wanting out of Cleveland, Wide Receiver Odell Beckham came out today and addressed those rumors by confirming that he wants to be here and he has no intentions to leave.
It is old. I am not going anywhere. I will be here. We are going to figure this thing out. It is just too special to leave. The Steelers [report], I heard that (WR) Jarvis (Landry) wanted to go to the Cardinals. All these people, it is just easy to talk about and it is cop out. It is an easy thing to do and cause a little controversy and a little friction.
I feel like in my experiences in the league and going through the troubles that I did, I can now see how those stories… For me, it is never going to affect me but then it is like, does it cause a little friction between you and a teammate who does not necessarily know what it is you are thinking?
It is just done. It is time to just put it to bed. I am going to be here. There is nothing more to talk about. Unless like I said, unless I go to the Argonauts or the Blue Bombers.”
He also went on to say....“I bought a house. Like off rip, I bought a house. I did not even have a house in New York. I feel like that says a lot. I have never felt like I had a home since I left college.
I went and trained in Arizona and was out there. I got to New York, never bought a house because I did not know after 2-3 years what the future was going to hold.
I bought a house here for a reason. I called (QB) Baker (Mayfield) after I got traded and Jarvis and talked about the future for a reason. I do not know if it happened last week, if it has been this way, it just has not been said, but like here it is put it all on the table for you.”
