TWINSBURG, Ohio (WOIO) - More than a dozen residents called police Thursday morning after being contacted by Ohio Edison.

Twinsburg Police Chief Christopher Noga said the residents were told they were behind in their payments and had 45 minutes to make a payment or their power would be shut off.

Noga said this is a scam and advised residents to hang up on the caller.

Noga added the police communications center also received one of the scam calls.
