SHAKER SQUARE, Ohio (WOIO) - The fire burned out.

Shaker Square’s fire restaurant is closing after 20 years, according to a statement from owner Douglas Katz.

The statement said the decision came after realizing the unique offerings and atmosphere of fire could not persist in the wake of COVID-19.

Katz will continue to serve Cleveland through his other endeavors, such as Zhug, Chimi, chutney b. and fire spice company.
