MEDINA, Ohio (WOIO) - The bank robber who got an “A” for effort, but not much else on the morning of Jan. 7 was finally arrested over 10 months later, Medina Police confirmed.

The suspect, who concealed his face with a hat and scarf, tried to stick up a Huntington Bank located inside a Giant Eagle at 870 N. Court.

The man slipped a teller a note, stating “this is a robbery," but unbeknownst to the crook, the bank had not yet opened and there was no available cash to steal, according to Medina Police.

The suspect then fled empty-handed on foot, and jumped into a black Chevy Tahoe with no front license plate.

Police identified the suspect as 31-year-old Travis Sutton of Medina.

Sutton was indicted by the Medina County Grand Jury for robbery and arrested on Tuesday.

The report stated Sutton admitted to detectives that he was the one responsible for attempting to rob the bank.

He is in the Medina County Jail pending an arraignment or bond.
