LORDSTOWN, Ohio (WOIO) - Lordstown General Motors (GM) said the company is seeking 1,100 employees in a Thursday announcement.

GM needs employees to staff the company’s upcoming 3 million-square-foot Ultium Cells LLC battery cell manufacturing facility in Lordstown.

GM partnered with LG Chem to mass produce Ultium battery cells for electric vehicles.

The partnership comes as GM moves to become an all-electric, zero-emissions business.
