Summit County Health officials receive nearly 4,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine

SUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) - Summit County Public Health (SCPH) officials said Wednesday they have received three shipments of the COVID-19 vaccine, which is slightly fewer than 4,000 doses.

Health officials said they are waiting for additional shipments to vaccinate the more than 550,000 people who qualify based on employment and group status.

The first people who already received the first does of the vaccine in Summit County include:

  • Summit County Fire/Ems personnel
  • Long term care facilities that were not a part of the federal pharmacy program,
  • Citizens with developmental disabilities that live in group homes and their caregivers.
  • Psychiatric hospital personnel & patients
