Wide receiver Rashard Higgins and guard Jedrick Wills Jr. were stopped by officers on Tuesday morning for allegedly drag racing against each other on Crocker Road with construction workers present before turning into a luxurious subdivision off Crocker Road, according to Westlake police.

During a probable cause search, the Westlake police officers discovered a suspected marijuana joint in Higgins’ car and destroyed it on camera. He was not cited for drug possession.

Wills and Higgins, who since deleted his posts, both remarked on the incident on Twitter.

The Cleveland Browns acknowledged the incident and said the team will “handle this matter appropriately.”

Both are scheduled for arraignment on the misdemeanor charge on Jan. 19 at the Rocky River Municipal Court.
